Q: What’s the arrangement with pickup and drop off?
A: We take care of it all. A member of the will team collect your dog from in the morning, take them for an action-packed day at the doggy day care centre and then drop them home to you in the evening. Specific pick up can be confirmed once we know the address and where the stop is on our route. Give us a call!
Q: Are you insured to walk dogs professionally?
A: Yes. Bow Wow House Doggy Day Care is insured to professionally walk and care for all pets. Our insurance covers public liability; day care, custody, control and transportation of your dog; loss of keys and boarding.
Q: How do you ensure harmony across the dogs?
A: We have a stringent appraisal procedure to ensure your dog will be suitable for day care. From this process we will know which classroom to put your dog in.
Q: Can I visit the Day Care?
A: Transparency is a core value of Bow Wow House. Currently, due to Covid requirements, only employees of Bow Wow House are insured to be on site. Thus we currently offer an e-walkthrough of the facilities and also supply updates/videos/pictures daily by WhatsApp for customers whose dogs are attending on that day.
Q: Will my dog be supervised at all times?
A: Yes. Your dog will be under constant supervision at all times from one of our trained team at the Day Care Centre and in transit.
Q: What happens when it rains or is too cold for my dog to be outside?
A: There is a vast, comfortable indoor area in each field which is heated in winter. Your dog will have a choice of snug dog beds if they would like to escape the weather.
Q: Do you Operate on Weekends?
A: We only provide a Boarding service that runs through the weekends. We DO NOT have any Vans on the road to provide Day Care or pickup/drop off services on the weekends. If your dog is boarding with us over the weekend:
Collection: Mon – Friday AM
Drop-Off: Mon – Friday PM
We are also out of the office on weekends for general enquiries however we endeavour to respond to any queries 6PM-7PM Sundays
Q: Do I need to book in the same days each week?
A: No. We pride ourselves on being flexible to fit around your busy schedule as a customer. You can change daycare days, cancel daycare days last minute and add days on as and when needed.
Q: Do I need to be home when you collect or drop off my dog?
A: No. It’s fine if you are out. Clients often share a set of keys with Bow Wow House to allow us to collect and drop off your dog even if you are not home.
Q: Is my puppy too young?
A: No. The day care centre is the perfect environment for your puppy to develop and socialize with other similar dogs. We accept puppies from as young as 12 weeks old or once they get out of their vaccination period.
Q: What happens in an emergency?
A: First we will evaluate the situation and call you to discuss. If we can’t get hold of you and urgent medical attention is mandatory, we will take your dog to your nominated veterinary practice or, depending on the circumstance, the nearest veterinary practice.
Q: My dog doesn’t like crates or confined space; will he cope with travelling to and from the centre?
A: Yes. The crates are custom designed and have more space than necessary for even the bigger breeds. Very rarely do we find that the dogs have any issues with the van or crates. After a couple of visits, we usually find a dog waiting and excited to see the van as it means they get to have a fun day running around with all of their friends.
Q: Do you offer day care on the weekends and bank holidays?
A: The Bow Wow House Doggy Day Care Centre only operates from Monday-Friday. However, upon request we provide some basic services.
Q: Do dogs have to be well trained and have a good recall?
A: We welcome dogs with all levels of training and recall. So long as they are sociable and friendly, they can come to play! Our daycare is totally private and secure, so they can run off lead in safety. Being off lead for long periods of time with us often has a dramatic improvement on dogs’ recall and behaviour in general.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
At Bow Wow House Dog Care you aren’t forced into a contract with a minimum length of service or notice period. We want you to send your dog to us because they love coming and because you want to, not because you have to! You are allowed to stop at any time- although dogs are usually with us for a significant period of time.
Q: What happens in rain?
We are accessible whatever the weather throws at us! Each area of daycare has shelter available at all times. Most dogs are not that fussed about a spot of rain, but for those that are there is always a cozy place to escape to. For our younger and smaller friends, we have a large indoor area for them to be in all year round. They also have an acre of clean wood chip attached to the barn to explore and play on keeping those delicate paws clean and dry even in the depths of winter!
Q: Do you clean dogs before they come home?
A: Yes, we do. On days when they become muddy or warm them up / cool them down depending on the season. However, we don’t have time to give every dog a fluffy blow dry at the end of camp so whilst they will be clean, it won’t be like
Q: What happens if my dog doesn’t get on with another dog?
A: Bow Wow House only accepts social well-adjusted dogs into day care. This ensures all of the dogs are happy company, so it is unlikely your dog will not get on with another dog. However, there are partitioned enclosures to ensure that dogs of similar size and breeding tend to play together.
